Introduction to Meditation Series

This class is an opportunity for the meditation curious, as well as those (perhaps like me) who've struggled with developing a practice due to confusion about what meditation is supposed to feel like or look like. Meditation is intended to allow gentle self awareness and greater self acceptance. This is often not what people experience, so they stop before finding their personal sweet spot. We will explore a variety of different styles of meditation and allow time for discussion and questions during each session.

Past trauma can be a barrier to experiencing the benefits of meditation. I struggled for years in meditation until I was able to allow for my experiences to have a place within my practice. Because of this experience, using trauma sensitive practices is the cornerstone of my teaching. This 4 week series will provide students with a wide variety of trauma-informed methods (doorways) of entering into a meditative state. There are a multitude of ways in, we'll explore one or two different methods each week.

This will be an outdoor class if you're local, offered at my home; this class is hybrid, so it will now be available to those outside our local area and when it rains. The recording will be available to those who'd like to use it during the week, between classes.Please bring a blanket or two to sit on, a pillow or chair if you have hip issues, and water. Please bring a journal and pen.

You may join us for the entire Series for $55 or come as a drop in student for $15
